How to compare quotes fairly
Comparing price without first comparing scope is comparing two different jobs. Before you decide, check that each quote is answering the same question:
- Are the load ratings and intended use identical across every quote?
- Is compliance documentation included, or is it a separate cost later?
- Do the stair, handrail, and gate specifications match across quotes?
- Is the flooring type and finish the same?
- Does the quote cover delivery to your specific site?
- Are you clear on what the supplier installs versus what you’ll manage yourself?

Pre-engineered components that are proven and consistent, but still respecced and redrawn for your actual site, tend to produce more predictable pricing and faster lead times than a fully custom build from scratch each time. The engineering problems have already been solved once. What changes is the site, not the system.
