Installing Hand Railings
This video demonstrates the installation of hand railing using the standard COMPACKED process. The railing is lifted onto the mezzanine with a forklift for safety. Corner and end posts are fixed to the flooring using bolts with washers. If adjustments are needed, the railing can be cut to length with a metal cutting saw, ensuring proper safety gear is worn. The railing is then secured to the posts using an impact wrench with a hex driver. This guide emphasizes safety and accuracy for professional railing installation.

In this chapter, we’re installing the hand railing using the standard compact process.
First, forklift the hand railing onto the mezzanine to avoid manual lifting.
Start by fixing the corner and end post to the ply flooring. Use a thirteen millimeter drill bit and lubricating oil, and bolt with washers top and bottom.
Next, if necessary, cut the railing to length using a metal cutting circular saw. Remember to wear the correct eye protection.
Most installations won’t require the railing to be cut. However, when it’s necessary, use an angle grinder to cut back the bottom kicker by fifty millimeters to allow the fence tube to slide into the post fit.
Finally, secure the railing pieces to the posts using an impact wrench drill with an eight millimeter hex driver to tighten the grub screws.
